This chapter resolves the battle between Mafuyu and one of her junior high gang buddies with a shaved ice contest which ends in him having heat stroke. Mafuyu learns more of the deeper emotions from her childhood companion. It was a rather emotionally resonating seeing this side character open up as he is unusually reserved when the series concentrates on Mafuyu’s hometown friends. This story is the perfect summer reading.
