Yona of the dawn volumes 1 to 15 Impressions

This series just becomes better and better with each passing chapter. The cast of characters is endearing and at some point I just found myself completely lost in its pages. Yona of the Dawn becomes an absolute masterpiece the further the series progresses. The artwork becomes crisper and the plot compels you more and more. The series manages to tie every detail together as the series and its characters spirals upwards. If you have not checked this series out yet I cannot recommend it enough.

Thoughts: Sailor Moon Complete Manga

I read the Sailor Moon manga in its entirety chapter by chapter. The series is rather formulaic not just in the episodic chapters but in the way arcs are structured. I honestly loved the series as a whole and it’s kind of depressing more of Naoko Takeuchi’s less famous series aren’t currently available in English because her artwork and paneling can be phenomenal and only get better and better as the series progresses. It was also fascinating seeing Usagi grow and mature as a person as well as the people around her. Character development actually is a strong point for this series. I get why Sailor Moon became the phenomenon that it did and I honestly consider it a classic as do many other people. The original butchered dub holds a special place in my heart. The original, unedited version is a masterpiece in my eyes with a lot of thought and care poured into it.

News Brief: Shonen Jump’s Newest ‘Evolution’

Viz Media’s Shonen Jump anthology is changing from, well, anthology format to a more Netflix for comics type of service. Details on the service’s actual included series are scarce. We know it will include most of the Shonen Jump manga Viz Media publishes including series which were never serialized in the magazine such as Muhyo and Roji. The launch subscription price for the service is $1.99 USD per month. The service’s regions are similar to the ones for the magazine itself. The service will simulpub series such as My Hero Academia and The Promised Neverland. The promotional trailer also includes Haikyu and Kimetsu no Yaiba which are not presently serialized in the magazine.

Personal Writing: Prose Writing and Just Plain Geeking Out

I figured I would clarify what I mean by personal posts. I mean I’m going to publish prose on this blog most likely very occasionally, as well as just geek out about the Asian comics I’m reading in addition to the news articles. Just wanted to make a very brief blog post to clarify that.

Experimenting

Going to experiment and try to write blog posts that are more personal but still related to comics in addition to news briefs. Instead of making everything so rigid and formal although the news briefs will still be formal there will be more of a personal element is what I’m trying to say. People who know me online probably know this but I buy way too many comics so I have a lot of comic related stuff to get out of my system.
